We are situated in the town of Prades, a five minute stroll from the town square where restaurants, bars and in the summer, much musical entertainment can be found. At the back of Villa Lafabrègue, and adjoining the Clinique St Michel, we have the old servants quarters. We have converted these quarters into two apartments in 2005. Both have electric ovens, gas hobs, dishwashers, tv's and music. There is shared access to a washing machine and a freezer. There are picnic bags and freezer packs available to borrow. There is a BBQ for each gite and we provide charcoal, foil, firelighters etc. Both gites have use of the enclosed swimming pool along with its acre of grounds. You are welcome to borrow maps and information from the main house for your days activities, and we will help you as much as possible in regards to walking, sightseeing and relaxing. Similarly you are welcome into the main house to use the free internet, or hook into the free WiFi network.
If you are looking at a winter break then you'll be pleased to know that both gites have central heating and wood burners. We are under an hours drive from Font Romeu and Les Angles ski resorts, so if you are looking for a few days skiing over the weekend or midweek, or a mix of skiing and walking, then we are an ideal base. During the winter period we are more flexible on changeover days and indeed length of stay. Please let us know your requirements and we will see what we can do.
Unfortunately we are not accepting children under 10 during July and August. At othertimes we accept 5 years plus, but the gites are not suitable for the under 5's.
The first Gite, the smaller of the two, consists of an open plan kitchen and living area, with stairs leading up to a bathroom, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The gite faces west and gets more of the afternoon sun than the larger gite.

Gite Carlit has a large kitchen with entrance through to a spacious living area. From the living area there are stairs up to the bathroom, and three bedrooms one of which has an ensuite shower room.

For the two weeks from 31st July to 14 th August we are hosting the musicians of the Casals Chamber Music Festival in the house. At this time, to try and keep things relatively peaceful, we are unfortunately not accepting children under 10 in the gites during July and August. We even have a 4 metre diameter trampoline for them to bounce on. For yourselves, if booking for these two weeks, please be aware that violins and cellos will be practiced, hopefully only adding to the enjoyment of your stay.
After September should you wish a short break, a long weekend, or be looking for an even longer let then please contact us.

We do not charge for towels and linen, and we do not ask for a damage deposit (but please let us know should something get broken or not work properly so we can fix the situation for you or the next group). Similarly we do not charge for cleaning. You are on holiday and we want you to relax, enjoy yourself and break the odd glass without worrying about it!
Out of high season, if the smaller gite is not available, let us know the number in your group and we shall see if we can discount the larger gite should that be available
Payment by sterling cheque; sterling internet or telephone transfer to our UK account; euros cash; international bank transfer or PayPal.
20% deposit required on booking. Balance required 8 weeks before the rental period starts.
Please note, should you cancel, we will only be able to make a refund if we are able to relet the gite.
All towels, pool towels and bed linen provided.

Smoking is not allowed in the gites but you are welcome to smoke outside the gites or in the grounds.
We have a chocolate brown labrador so unfortunately cannot accept other pets.
